by BetUS.com
Only in the preseason would the Football Odds favor the St. Louis Rams over the Baltimore Ravens! St. Louis has looked OK in the preseason and will look to finish the Preseason with a winning record. The only problem – they face the Baltimore Ravens in their finale.
BALTIMORE RAVENS (3-0) vs. ST. LOUIS RAMS (2-1)
Thursday, September 2, 8:00 PM
At: Edward Jones Dome
St. Louis, Missouri
Football Odds:
- Baltimore Ravens: +3 (-110)
- St. Louis Rams: -3 (-110)
NFL Moneyline: Baltimore +135: St. Louis -155
Total: 38 points: Over (110), Under (110)
The Baltimore Ravens have not lost a preseason game since 2008 and will look to keep their impressive run going on Thursday night. With most roster spots being determined, the Ravens may opt to rest most of their starter.

The real Baltimore Ravens may not show up on Thursday but they still have a chance to win the game. With absolutely no need to risk the health of Joe Flacco, Ray Rice and Anquan Boldin, the reserves will likely see the bulk of the playing time. Donte Stallworth and Mark Clayton went down with injuries last week – you can bet that the rest of the starters won’t be in that position this week.
With Flacco likely sitting, Marc Bulger and Alex Smith will be left to battle for the primary backup role. They will be throwing to roster hopefuls Demetrius Williams, Marcus Smith and Justin Harper. With Ray Rice likely to sit, Willis McGahee may see some time with Jalen Parmele, Matt Lawrence and rookie Curtis Steele battling it out for a roster spot.
The defense has been incredibly efficient so far – the backups have been as effective as the starters. They have allowed a total of 25 points in three games, an average of 8.3 points per game.
The St. Louis Rams appear to have ushered in a new era, with Sam Bradford impressing in the preseason. His play alone has the Rams as three point favorite in the Football Odds. AJ Feeley was supposed to have a leg up on the starting quarterback job, but the injury that forced him out of last week’s game has opened the door for Bradford.
Bradford will likely get another extended look this week in order to build on his 15 for 22, 189 yard, two touchdown performance last week. He needs the reps and will likely get them against a stout Baltimore defense.
Steven Jackson may see some playing time but expect him to be very limited in the game. The battle for the receiving positions will be hotly contested in the game. With Donnie Avery out for the season, Danny Amendola, Keenan Burton and rookie Mardy Gilyard have a lot to play for.
Football Odds Outlook:
The Baltimore Ravens may not play their defensive starters for long but their system is almost second to none. The Rams’ quarterbacks will be hounded all night long and likely will not be able to generate the points necessary to win the game. Marc Bulger has a lot to prove against his former team and will likely play a huge part in Baltimore’s victory.
