NASCAR Betting Odds Irwin Tools Night Race - Bristol Motor Speedway

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series runs on Saturday night this week at Bristol Motor Speedway for the second visit of the year to the 533-mile oval in Tennessee. Bet on the race at Bodog’s NASCAR odds.

Jimmie Johnson has opened as the Bodog Sportsbook favorite at 7/2 and he will start on the poll after turning a lap at 123.475 mph on Friday to edge Carl Edwards. Johnson did win the spring race at Bristol but hasn’t had a ton of success there as it was his first win at Bristol in 17 starts. Plus Jimmie Johnson has been struggling of late, with just one Top-10 finish in the past six races.

Really the favorite has to be Kyle Busch, who is 13/2 to win. He swept both races at Bristol in 2009 and leads all drivers in average finish (5.7) and laps led (900) in the past seven races there (since the Car of Tomorrow debuted). He has eight Top-10 finishes in his career there. Oh, and he’s already won the Nationwide and Truck Series races at Bristol this week. He is only one of three drivers to have a win in all three of NASCAR's top divisions at the track.

But perhaps the best betting value is on Kyle’s brother Kurt Busch (15/1), who is tied with Jeff Gordon (16/1) among active drivers for the most wins at Bristol with five. He led the most laps in the spring race but ended up third. Gordon has an 11.3 average finish at Bristol in the past seven races and finished 14th in the spring.

Edwards (8/1) has finished in the top five in the past three races on the circuit and is a two-time winner at Bristol. Edwards has the third-best average finish (9.6) in the past seven races at the track but has yet to win this year. Tony Stewart (8/1) also is winless this season but finished second in the spring race at Bristol and has one victory and eight Top 10s in 23 starts.
