NFL Futures Betting Odds – Cash in on Teams to Miss Playoffs

A plethora of NFL teams won’t get close to sniffing a postseason appearance following the conclusion of the upcoming 2010 NFL regular season while others will fall agonizingly short in their quests to reach the playoffs.

This in-depth betting breakdown on a handful of NFL teams that I expect to come up short in their respective missions to reach the postseason will give avid pro football bettors another solid route to making a plethora of potentially bankroll-boosting wagers before the start of the regular season ever gets underway.

With that said, let me get started in identifying some of the two dozen-plus teams that won’t make the playoffs following the conclusion of the 2010 NFL regular season.

Lock Teams – These teams all look like lock selections to not reach the postseason in 2010.

Analysis: Let’s keep it real for a minute NFL gamblers and just admit that is not very hard picking the worst teams in the league. You know those teams with absolutely no shot whatsoever of reaching the postseason –not even in their wildest dreams.

Well, the eight teams listed above, sure fit that category for one reason or another. Some of these teams may be in the midst of wise rebuilding plans (Detroit, St. Louis, Seattle, Tampa Bay) while others are lost at sea with no hope of finding land (Cleveland, Chicago, Buffalo).

Either way, I believe each of these eight teams will all be on the outside looking in come playoff time.

On the Postseason Bubble

- New York Giants -140
If the Cowboys, Saints, Packers and 49ers win their respective divisions, that will leave the two wild card spots – with one almost assuredly going to the Vikings or whomever comes in second place in the NFC North.

With one remaining postseason berth available, I believe it will go to the Atlanta Falcons, thereby, leaving the Giants on the outside looking in come playoff time.

- Philadelphia Eagles -130
The Birds looked mostly wingless in the preseason as Kevin Kolb failed to throw a single touchdown pass.

- Miami Dolphins -200
Miami’s 2-2 preseason mark leads me to believe the Fins are going to finish right around 8-8 – and out of the postseason again.

- Washington Redskins -275
An 8-8 record for Washington in the first season of the Shanahan-McNabb era is a good start for the Skins.

- Arizona Cardinals -250
The loss of Kurt Warner means the Cards are going to take a step backwards – it’s that simple NFL bettors!

- Jacksonville Jaguars -600
The Jags look like they are going to put the ‘M’ in mediocrity this season while hovering right around the .500 mark all season long.

- Denver Broncos -450
If you like roller-coaster rides, then you’ll probably love the Broncos in 2010 as the enter season two under young head coach Josh McDaniels.

- Oakland Raiders -550
Believe it or not pro football gamblers, but the Raiders look like they are finally heading in the right direction after years of looking mostly like buffoons.
