The Stanley Cup Final Game 6 odds should get plenty of bets, as they represent Chicago’s chance to end the NHL’s longest title drought at 49 years.
The Chicago Blackhawks have Philadelphia Flyers on the ropes with a 3-2 series lead after they walloped the Flyers 7-4 in Game 5. The big story was Flyers goaltender Michael Leighton. He sparkled in the conference final against Montreal, posting three shutouts, but he’s been a true rollercoaster in the Stanley Cup Final. He got pulled in Game 1 and again in Game 5 after the Hawks beat him three times in the first period.
Flyers head coach Peter Laviolette made a tough decision and named Leighton as his starter for Game 6. It’s a controversial call but the Flyers have defied the odds all postseason and are 9-1 at home in the playoffs.
